Cool Down Stress with This Cortisol-Balancing Strawberry Matcha Protein Ice Cream
If you’re craving something cold, creamy, and refreshing but don’t want to derail your wellness goals, this Strawberry Matcha Protein Ice Cream might be exactly what your body—and your nervous system—needs. Designed with stress resilience in mind, this high-protein, hormone-friendly treat brings together some of the most powerful ingredients for keeping cortisol in check.

A Sweet Way to Support Stress Reduction
What makes this frozen dessert different from the usual sugar-laden options? Every ingredient has a purpose.
- Matcha is more than just a trendy green powder. It’s rich in L-theanine, a naturally occurring amino acid that promotes calm without drowsiness. L-theanine works synergistically with the small dose of caffeine in matcha to support focus and reduce anxiety—perfect for those high-stress days when your energy feels wired but tired.
- Collagen peptides not only provide 10g+ of protein per scoop, but they also support gut integrity and joint health, which are both critical when you’re trying to heal from chronic stress or inflammation.
- Greek yogurt brings additional protein (and probiotics, if you’re using one with live cultures), helping stabilize blood sugar—a key to preventing cortisol spikes that come from sudden drops in energy.
- Strawberries, in peak season during May, are packed with vitamin C, an antioxidant that plays a major role in reducing inflammation and supporting adrenal health. Their natural sweetness also means less added sugar is needed.
Why Blood Sugar and Cortisol Go Hand in Hand
When your blood sugar crashes, cortisol steps in to raise it. That’s why one of the most effective ways to lower stress hormones is to build meals and snacks with protein, fiber, and anti-inflammatory nutrients—even when it comes to dessert.
This ice cream delivers all three in a form that feels indulgent without the crash. You’ll get 21g of protein per serving, only 14g net carbs, and just 3g of fat—making it a macro-balanced way to satisfy your sweet tooth and still feel good afterward.
Seasonal, Simple, and Stress-Soothing
The best part? You can whip this up in minutes using just a blender and either a Ninja Creami or a freezer-safe container. It’s an ideal warm-weather treat that highlights May’s seasonal produce while supporting your wellness from the inside out.
